I designed these Impala Horn Candles for Sleek and Destroy.

I love horns, beeswax, and mold making. These collided when I visited The Bone Room in Oakland and found a beautiful pair of impala horns. I decided to turn them into a product for Sleek and Destroy – a set of beeswax candles cast from the original horns.

The process involved turning a base on a lathe, sculpting the transition between the horns and the base, and then casting a glove and fiberglass mother mold for candle production. I produced limited run of these candles and wrote up the mold making process up as a tutorial on Instructables.
